Features

Server-verified seat time

Every minute a student spends in a lesson is confirmed by our server, not by the browser. Timers can't be skipped, sped up or faked from the console.

How it works

  1. The classroom player sends a heartbeat every 20 seconds while the student is active and the tab is visible.
  2. The server credits time only when the heartbeat arrives on schedule, from the student's single active session.
  3. The Next button stays locked until the server says the lesson's required time is complete.
  4. Videos can't be fast-forwarded or sped up until the lesson is finished.

What your school controls

  • Reading speed used to calculate lesson time (default 180 words per minute)
  • Manual time per lesson for PDFs, slides and SCORM
  • Idle timeout before the timer pauses (default 6 minutes)
  • Optional daily cap on study time
  • Whether lessons must be completed in order
  • Access window after enrollment (default 180 days)

Questions

What happens if a student opens the course in two tabs?

Only one session can earn time. Opening the course elsewhere pauses the other one immediately.

Does time keep counting when the student walks away?

No. After the idle timeout the timer pauses until the student clicks Resume.
